Titanic Exhibition Centre, Belfast
With a larger seating capacity and wider stage than Belfast's Grand Opera House, this theatre is to be built to accommodate a cast of over 80 performers especially for the week long run of the show between April 28 and May 3, 2020.
Colin Boyd, Chairman of Belfast Operatic Company said that, "With the Opera House closing in 2020 for a year, Belfast Operatic Company in its 60 anniversary year, had to think outside the box in order to accommodate what is expected to be a high demand for tickets, and it seemed fitting to build our own temporary theatre within the TEC Belfast - on the very ground where the ship's components were fabricated.
Coming to the Titanic Exhibition Centre in April 2020
In the final hours of 14th April 1912 the RMS Titanic, on her maiden voyage from Southampton to New York, collided with an iceberg and ‘the unsinkable ship’ slowly sank. It was one of the most tragic disasters of the 20th Century, in which 1517 men, women and children lost their lives.
